New President & Vice President elected

Casino's Own Wireless members have elected Sandra Humphrys as President for the next year, at November 2015's special meeting.  Sandra stood unopposed for the position.

Catherine Cox was elected Vice-President, from five candidates who nominated.  Sandra and Catherine will serve in those roles until next year's Annual General Meeting in August.

Those positions had been filled in an acting capacity by Production Manager Heidi Simpson and Technician Paul Kielly since July (2015).  The Association decided to seek input from all station volunteers for nominations, along with discussions about future directions at 2COW.

Newer technology, management team for coming year

2COW's Production Manager & former Vice-President Heidi Simpson replaced outgoing President Myrna Walters in July.  Myrna stood down at the end of June, announcing that she'd be leaving Casino to be nearer to her family in the ACT.  Myrna served more than two terms as station President since 2010, as well as stand-in presenter of countless programs.

Board member & Technician Paul Kielly was appointed Vice-President.  Paul told the August Annual General Meeting of Casino's Own Wireless that the coming year would see further improvements to the station's technical resources.  Three new professional CD players have been installed in the main studio, along with computer controls for the station's digital music library.

Casino's Own Wireless Celebrates 21 Years

Our birthday party was held at the station on Queensland Road, on the 7th of March 2015.

We celebrated with a family fun day, barbecue and country concert, music provided by Warren Caldwell, Gordon Elliot, Geoff Gibson, Rachel Jillett, Johnny Robinson and others.

2COW Teams Up With 3 Rivers Radio

Although they are 500 kilometres apart, two community stations are happy to help each other out.

3 Rivers Radio of Dunedoo, Coolah & Mendooran in the state's Central West and Casino's Own Wireless are exchanging our information and ideas, not just on technical issues but also business essentials like accounting & reporting.

The stations already had ties before this initiative was launched.  2COW's former President Myrna Walters met 3 Rivers' Secretary Charlie Rush through mutual friends.  3 Rivers Radio's Technician Ken Westerman was born in Casino.
